翻譯Please find and download the following apps to your iPad prior to attending the first day of school. Be careful to choose the iPad version (HD version) of the apps to download (not the iPhone or iTouch version). The prices listed should be considered an estimate as it may have changed or varied slightly. In the past, we have required our students to purchase document reading/editing apps. This year we have made some changes and are streamlining with the “cloud.” The good news is, these apps are free, and they work even when offline. You can work on a project on your desktop or laptop, save it in Google Drive, and have it to work on right there on your iPad. They allow for sharing and collaborating, and very importantly, cloud backup, no more lost or misplaced homework. New apps will be marked with an *.
翻譯GoodReader ($150 NTD)
This is the highest-rated document and PDF reader on the app store, and it handles large files really well. At Primacy, we will use it every day, in all our classes, to read our digital textbooks. It also allows for adding in text notes, drawing, inserting shapes, and searching within text. It recognizes hyperlinks, and it allows bookmarking.
翻譯* Moodle Mobile (Free)
You can use this app to browse the content of your courses, even when offline. You can receive instant notifications of messages and other events, quickly find and contact other people in your courses, upload images, audio, videos and other files from your mobile device, view your course grades and more.
翻譯Google Drive (Free)

This contemporary English dictionary makes English easy to understand and explains English using simple words. Each word is explained using text, sound, pictures, and video clips so that every learning style can understand the ideas.
This is an offline dictionary app (which means you don’t have to have internet to use it). It is useful for looking up definitions/synonyms and listening to pronunciations. It is valuable for any subject matter. The only problem with it is that is is a bit large in size, so make sure you have enough space on your iPad to handle it.
This is a cloud-based (internet-based) document storage app. It allows for auto-syncing between any folders selected on any computer or device you choose—once a folder is selected, EVERYTHING saved in that folder is synced with this program. (It can sync between school computer, iPad, home computer, and information can be accessible anywhere via the website). This is a valuable tool for having multiple electronic devices. Make sure you also install Dropbox on your home computer(s) to make this worth its while!
翻譯Olive Tree (Free)
This is a Bible app with KJV, Modern KJV, ASV (along with several other versions for free). Along with having several versions to choose from, it allows for the student to search, highlight, and take notes, etc. (There are many other good BIble apps on the App Store, but Primacy heavily leans to this one.)
This is a highly rated app that allows for organized note taking as well as online backup of the information. You can format the notes and make folders so that specific class information is easier to find. It integrates both picture and video, and allow for voice recording along with many other handy features. Make sure you also install Evernote on your home computer(s) to make this worth its while!
翻譯A QR reader app
QR codes are a convenient way to transfer information to an iPad (website, pictures, documents, anything!). Scan (Free) is the best QR reader out there, but basically any of them will do. Just make sure you always have one. (Requires an iPad with a camera)
Although some apps are valuable for every student, other apps are more class-specific. When teachers find apps that perform valuable functions for their classes, they may ask students to download these apps. Students may be required to download free apps by themselves. If a teacher finds a paid-for app that is valuable to use in the classroom, they will “gift” the app to their students. This will be paid for by Primacy. The email address attached to the Taiwan iTunes account in use will receive an email stating an app has been given to them as a gift and they can then download the app through the link in the email. If you want to setup a “free” Taiwan iTunes (use your iPad):
- Click on the App Store app.
- Sign out of any current iTunes account
- Click on any free app and install
- When the pop-up appears, click “Create New Apple ID”
- Choose Taiwan store (in Chinese Characters)
- Fill out information and click “Next”
- Under “Billing Information,” choose “None”
- Continue to fill out remainder of details requested.
This account can be used to download any free apps or gifted apps via the Taiwanese App Store. Note: Only Taiwanese iTunes accounts will be compatible with Primacy’s “gifting” program.
