Even though it was a dreary day in Taipei, smiles were shining on faces in Linkou for the first Primacy Student Association Day in this school year. Student leaders planned out an exciting day of group games and team building events. Highlights included Hamsterball Soccer, archery, and a basketball challenge. Each House also performed a song with original lyrics.
To re-introduce itself, the Game Club at TPCA hosted a Connect 4 Tournament, with the hope of also spreading gaming culture and encouraging more such inter-house gaming events in future. The tournament kicked off on 4th September with twenty-four people entering (4 from every house). That number has been whittled down to eight who will play in the second round this week. Top positions will win house points.
“For I know the plans I have for you declares the lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and future.” – Jeremiah 29:11.
Primacy is blessed to welcome Stephen Arrington, a former Navy Frogman, Expedition leader for the Jacque Cousteau Society, adventurer, and follower of Jesus Christ as guest speaker for our fall Spiritual Emphasis Week. Mr. Arrington’s message clearly demonstrated God has a plan for each and every one of us.
Making music has great mental, cognitive and physical benefits. The benefit music provides to students has been recognized for thousands of years. Aristotle, one of the great teachers from long ago, stated that, “music has a power of forming the character, and should therefore be introduced into the education of the young.” The faculty and students of Primacy look forward to growing and developing a strong music tradition.
Intramurals have just started at Primacy and we just finished our second week of basketball. The houses have come out to play and support each other every Wednesday from 5-7pm. Grey and Blue house have already had two wins with the other houses putting up a good fight to compete. I hope we continue with more students next week as our houses continue to play each other in this fun atmosphere.
